Enjoying Ensenada

Final stop. Ensenada. Funny to think I’ve traveled so far these past months only to end up less than 200 km from my old home in Irvine—travel has a sense of humor like that.

Stepped off the ship with no real plan—just a walk, a look around, and letting the day unfold at its own pace.

Color everywhere. Little stalls packed with personality—exactly the kind of place where you don’t need to buy anything to enjoy it.

Turn a corner and there it is—music, energy, and that unmistakable sound that makes the whole place feel alive.

Wandered down toward the water. Boats, rusted chains, a bit of history—quiet moments between the busier ones.

A classic Dos Equis—cold, condensation rolling down the bottle—lime and salt on the side, and just the right kind of Mexican weather. At Papas & Beer in Ensenada… not a bad place to pause for a while.

I spent the next hour just walking the beach, reflecting on life and how lucky I am to be able to travel and experience places like this. No rush, no plan—just time to take it all in.

This moment summed it up—a quiet stretch of beach, a man and his dog, and life moving at its own pace. I just sat and watched, appreciating how simple and good it all felt.

A few horses waiting patiently, part of the rhythm of the place. Not rushed, not staged—just there.

As the sun sets on what may be my last solo cruise, I find myself ready for what comes next. Alli and I have already shared a few adventures, but this next chapter feels different—in the best possible way.

Same boat, new destinations… and someone special to share them with.
