The View From My Beer
In Rome, drinking beer became a necessity as the street cafes provided access to WiFi. Here I am enjoying a pint of Peroni nearby the Colosseum. This is perhaps the first of my true view from my beer photos, before I decided to make it a feature of my travels. It was somebody else’s photo from Rome that actually inspired me to later adopt The View From My Beer.
Rome
We chose Rome because of its history and many landmarks. I felt it would be good cultural enrichment for Ashley before she enters high school.
Our Visit
Rome was our base for five days (July 21-26) on our European vacation. We also visited Venice (July 22) and the Vatican (July 23) during our stay. We stayed at a small rental apartment complex a short 5-minute walk from the Colosseum. While I still have fond memories of our stay, I have not been able to locate a lot of photos
Colosseum

Our accommodation was right down the street from the Colosseum, so we had the chance to ‘drop by’ several times (July 21, 23, 26) to take a look and marvel at its beauty. This was often the best way for us to get Internet access using the free wifi offered by the cafes. IOn July 26, We took a tour to see the inside of the Colosseum.
Rome

The rest of our time we spent walking around the streets of Rome. After our visit to Venice we felt comfortable uing the local train system to get us back to our hotel when our travels took us too far.
