The View From My Beer
On a clear day its is possible to see the peaks of 222 mountains from the Molde Panorama. Unfortunately today was not very clear, but I did have a 0.6 litre glass of Frydenlund Pilsner at the Vadestua restaurant and bar to ensure the day was a good one.
Molde
Molde is a small Norwegian city with a population of 22,500. It sits on the Romsdale peninsular and surrounded by many islands. During my visit there was a constant stream of ferries transporting people and vehicles between Molde and these islands.

My Walk
Today’s walk was about 10km circuit that took me past many of the sites, including a another scenic view looking down on the city. It wasn’t planned, it is something that just happened.

Aker Stadium & Molde Skandse
The port area was dominated visually by both the Aker Stadium (home of the local Soccer team) and the Molde Skandse building.

Molde Chateauet
I decided it would be better to head uphill towards the Molde Panormama knowing it is better to do these sorts of climbs while my leag are still fresh. The next point of interest on the way was a villa and gaedens dating back to 1918 known as Molde Chateauet.

Romsdalsmuseet (Romsdale Museum)
The trail then passed by Romsdal Museum, one of Norway’s largest folk museum. It was established in 1912 and portrays buildings from the region. I was fascinated by the sod roofs that featured on many of these buildings.

Molde Panorama
The walk was less challenging than the one in Åndalsnes, allowing more time to enjoy the view as we slowly climbed.

Finally I reached the top, and bar that provided an awesom view along with a nice cold beer.

Central Molde
A retraced by steps down the hill past Romsdalsmuseet before veering left into central Molde. The city had an interesting micture of old and new buildings.

Molde Cathedral
The Molde Cathedral dominated th landscape in central Molde, providing many different perspectives from different locations.

Fjord Cruise
After departing Molde we were able to enjoy a cruise out to sea passing through the Molde Fjord and Grunnefjorden before heading north to Trondheim.
