The View From My Beer
Today I had a pint of the local Tribute Cornish Pale Ale at the ‘Prince of Wales’. I chose the pub because over the years I have drunk at a lot of ‘Prince of Wales’ hotels, but not yet on any of my visits to England in 2025. The pub was quaint. The beer, well lets just say it was an ale. Not the worst one I have ever had, but not as refreshing as a lager.
Destination
Falmouth was the first stop on my 16-day cruise to Greenland & Iceland. My second visit to Falmouth following another cruise four weeks earlier. We anchored and had to endure one-hour waits to get on a water-taxi in each direction along with the 30-minute ride itself. It was the same on my previous visit.
My Walk

I reversed my walk from my first visit, passing along the coast to Swanpool Beach before circling back into the city itself. It had proven to be quite a nice walk along the Cornish coastline last time and I wasn’t sure I would find a better option. Today I didn’t need to visit Falmouth Castle, allowing me the chance to explore Pendennis Point for the first time.
Coastal Walk

Pendennis point has a rugged coastline with ruins from the fortifications that defended Falmouth harbour. Further along were several beaches, some of which actually had sand. I took a lot of photos on my first visit and tried not to repeat myself today.
Falmouth City

Today I had a little more time as I was able to bypass a number of attractions I saw on my previous visit. This allowed my to explore deeper into town, including the old part of town. I like Cornwall. The towns I have visited have a distinct charm about them. They are largely old, with a rustic feel that comes from there not being a lot of modernization.
